As much as we all wanted LeBron to join us this offseason, we can all agree that not getting him is not the worst thing that could have happened. This team is one of much promise, even without LeBron. For starters, We have Ben Simmons, who will be coming fresh off of a stunning Rookie of the Year campaign all while being a substantial part of the Sixers' historic winning streak. We have Joel Embiid who will be coming off of his first non-injured offseason from preparing, working and grinding his way to MVP caliber. We have Markelle Fultz, the one we are all waiting for. Many of us, including me, are extremely optimistic about Markelle's eventual return. He has been working with expert trainer Drew Hanlen non-stop for almost 3 months. Us as fans should be nothing but ecstatic as we wait to watch him on opening night. Not to mention, we have a stellar supporting cast in Dario, J.J. and some new guys like Wilson Chandler, who the Sixers acquired via trade with the Nuggets and also Nemanja Bjelica, who the Sixers acquired via free agency. Both will be key in playing against the plethora of NBA "small ball" lineups. There are rumors of the Sixers gaining traction on a trade for Kyle Korver from the Cavs. Korver would also be quite the addition for his lights out shooting from 3. Finally, now that LeBron is not playing for the Eastern Conference, it will be much easier for the Sixers to compete for a spot in the finals this year. LeBron going West means that teams like us don't have to worry about going through him. With all this being said, LeBron going to L.A. did not really hurt us in ways that we might have initially thought.
