After last night’s disappointing loss to the Raptors, Sixers fans awoke to a blockbuster of a trade that went through late last night. The trade sent Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, two first round picks, one being the Miami 2021 pick and two second round picks to the LA Clippers for Tobias Harris, Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic. Despite forcing us fans to part ways with Landry Shamet, who has done so well in his limited role as a rookie coming off the bench, this trade was definitely a power move by Brand. Tobias Harris is a bonfire stud. He is a phenomenal scorer and shooter and a solid rebounder as a small forward/power forward. Boban and Mike Scott are solid bench pieces as well. Boban is one of the tallest players the league who can grab rebounds for days. Mike Scott is a versatile player who can play both forward spots and can score and defend at a solid level. All in all, I really liked this trade. Some reports state that the Sixers will regret parting ways with the 2021 Miami Heat pick, but this was a deal that needed to be done. Even after the Jimmy Butler deal, the Sixers were still questionable favorites to win the east. Now, the Sixers are now in a perfect spot to compete and make a deep run in the playoffs.
