This past week in Sixers land has told us even more than ever before that the NBA is simply a business and that no relationship is safe, no matter how strong. In the course of 48 hours, we were forced to say goodbye to Richaun Holmes, an original member of the Process, Justin Anderson, our "grit-n-grind" and our very own TLC, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot. Holmes was traded to Phoenix to clear cap space in order to sign F Jonah Bolden to his rookie contract. Anderson and TLC were traded as a result of the 3 team mega-deal headlined by Carmelo Anthony which saw the Hawks acquire Anderson and the Thunder acquire TLC. In the deal however, the Sixers were granted rights to C Mike Muscala, who will be a solid backup for Embiid. Muscala is your everyday center who can shoot, rebound and defend. He can play a bit of the 4 but will most likely play center for the course of the year. It's unfortunate because these guys were what made our bench one of the leagues best last year. With Richaun's explosiveness and Anderson's grit, these 3 were a funky group that never gave up on both ends of the floor. As sad as it is to see them leave, these moves were made for a reason and hopefully, they will pay off. The good thing is that these guys will hopefully be able to find new roles on their new teams and shine and grow in a different atmosphere.
